Job Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and motivated Food Technologist to join a well-established food manufacturing company. This role is pivotal in managing customer and supplier relationships, ensuring the successful approval of suppliers, handling product specifications, and supporting new product launches. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a deep understanding of food technology, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Management & Approvals:
    • Coordinate and manage the approval process for new suppliers.

    • Evaluate and verify suppliers’ capabilities, ensuring compliance with quality and food safety standards.

    • Maintain and develop strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the delivery of quality ingredients and materials.

  • Customer Specifications:

    • Work closely with customers to prepare, review, and update product specifications, ensuring that they meet customer requirements and industry standards.

    • Address and resolve any queries related to specifications, ensuring clear communication between the customer and internal teams.

    • Ensure product formulations and specifications meet regulatory and food safety requirements, providing expert advice on compliance.

  • New Product Launches:

    • Assist in the development and launch of new food products, including working on product formulations, supplier sourcing, and testing.

    • Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure successful product launches.

    • Ensure that new products meet both customer expectations and regulatory requirements.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in a Food Technologist or similar role within the food manufacturing industry, ideally with experience in supplier management and product specifications.

  • Strong understanding of food safety standards, quality control processes, and regulatory requirements.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise with both suppliers and customers effectively.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth product development and launch processes.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

  • A proactive, problem-solving approach to technical challenges and product development.
