About the Role:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and dynamic New Product Development (NPD) Technologist to join a leading food manufacturing company in Armagh specialising in desserts. As an NPD Technologist, you will play a crucial role in the development and innovation of new food products from concept to commercialization. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for food innovation, excellent technical knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively across various teams to bring exciting new products to market.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the development of new products from idea generation through to launch.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and quality, to ensure smooth product development and timely delivery.

Develop product formulations, ingredient specifications, and production processes.

Conduct product trials, evaluate results, and refine formulations as necessary to meet customer and company standards.

Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with food safety regulations, quality standards, and industry guidelines.

Assist with the preparation of product presentations and samples for both internal and external stakeholders.

Stay up-to-date with food trends, consumer preferences, and technological advancements in the food industry.

Support the scale-up of new products from laboratory to production scale.

Provide technical support during the transition from product development to full production.
Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.

Experience in food product development, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.

Strong understanding of food safety regulations, quality assurance, and ingredient functionality.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Creative thinking with a passion for developing innovative and high-quality food products.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Experience with product testing, sensory evaluation, and market research is a plus.
