Job Title: Quality Manager / Quality Lead
Location: Mitchelstown, Co. Cork
Salary: €40,000 - €45,000 (DOE)

About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Quality Manager/Lead to join a Food Manufacturing client at their food manufacturing facility in Mitchelstown, Co. Cork. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety, product quality, and compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a strong agricultural or farming background, bringing practical, hands-on experience to quality processes and an understanding of the farm-to-factory supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) functions across the manufacturing site.

Develop, implement, and maintain food safety and quality systems in compliance with BRC, HACCP, and other relevant standards.

Conduct internal audits and manage external audits (e.g., BRC, DAFM, customer audits).

Monitor production processes to ensure quality specifications are consistently met.

Investigate and resolve non-conformances, customer complaints, and product recalls as necessary.

Train and support staff in quality policies, food safety procedures, and best practices.

Liaise with suppliers, farmers, and internal teams to ensure raw material quality meets production standards.

Drive a culture of continuous improvement and food safety awareness throughout the site.
Requirements:

A degree or relevant qualification in Food Science, Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related field.

2+ years’ experience in a quality role within food production or agriculture-related manufacturing.

Strong knowledge of food safety systems such as HACCP, BRCGS, and ISO 22000.

Practical understanding of raw materials from an agricultural/farming perspective.

Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and communication abilities.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with quality management software/systems is a plus.
