We are hiring for our client, a leading global law firm, who are seeking to appoint a Competition Associate in London to join their highly regarded Competition, Regulation and Trade team. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented associate looking to join a practice known for delivering market-leading expertise across a full spectrum of complex, high-profile and international competition matters.

Working closely with partners and senior lawyers, the successful Competition Associate will support on high-level non-contentious work, including merger control, antitrust, and foreign direct investment, while also gaining experience in contentious matters such as competition litigation and private enforcement.

The Role:

  • Advise on a wide range of non-contentious competition matters including merger control, foreign direct investment, antitrust investigations and regulatory advice

  • Support on contentious matters, especially in relation to private enforcement and appeals

  • Engage in client contact and relationship management with a variety of high-profile international clients

  • Draft and contribute to legal precedents, client alerts, marketing material, and knowledge sharing across the group

  • Work closely with partners and senior lawyers across different jurisdictions to deliver exceptional legal advice


The Person:

  • 2–5 years’ post-qualified experience within a reputable UK or European competition practice

  • Solid academic background (minimum 2:1 or equivalent), with strong analytical and drafting skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage client relationships and work within an international team

  • Demonstrated interest in competition and trade law and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, intellectually rigorous environment

  • Commercial awareness and ability to contribute to business development
