Licensing Solicitor
We are currently working with one of Ireland’s leading commercial law firms as they look to hire a Licensing Solicitor to join their growing regulatory and licensing team in Dublin.
This is a unique opportunity for a solicitor with a litigation, regulatory, property or general practice background to move into a highly specialised area advising a broad range of well-known retail, hospitality and leisure clients on licensing and regulatory matters.
The team acts for a significant client base across the hospitality, retail and alcohol sectors, advising on licensing applications, regulatory compliance and Court applications nationwide.

The Role
The successful candidate will work closely with Partners and senior solicitors across a broad range of licensing and regulatory matters including:
- Advising clients on licensing requirements, processes and compliance obligations
- Preparing and presenting Court applications
- Managing licence applications, renewals, transfers and variations
- Drafting submissions, correspondence and supporting regulatory documentation
- Liaising with regulatory authorities, advisers and third parties
- Supporting clients across hospitality, retail, leisure and alcohol-related sectors
- Conducting legal and regulatory research
- Assisting with wider litigation or advisory matters where relevant depending on background and experience
This role can be tailored depending on the successful candidate’s background, with scope for a broader litigation or advisory split alongside the licensing work.
The Person
Suitable candidates may come from a variety of backgrounds including commercial litigation, property, regulatory or general practice.
You will likely have:
- 2+ years’ PQE
- Strong drafting and client management skills
- Previous Court exposure or advocacy experience
- An interest in regulatory and licensing matters
- Experience gained within a mid-tier, top-tier or recognised general practice firm
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
Candidates operating at Associate, Senior Associate or equivalent level will all be considered.
