Project Manager – Machine Building / Automation

Description:

We are partnering with a leading machine builder and automation specialist based in Cavan, serving clients across the Medical Device, Food & Beverage, and Automotive sectors. With a robust order book, extensive repeat business, and ambitious growth plans, this company is scaling with both purpose and success. As part of their expansion, they are now seeking to appoint a Project Manager who will take full ownership of delivering bespoke automation and machine build projects. This is a critical, client-facing role for an experienced Project Manager who has worked in a machine building/automation environment and who can bring strong commercial awareness, industry insight, and a proven track record of project delivery.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will:

  • Take full ownership of automation and machine build projects from kick-off to delivery (budget, planning, resourcing, execution).

  • Work directly with clients to manage scope, timelines, quality, and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Lead cross-functional teams, driving schedules, identifying risks, and implementing effective mitigation strategies.

  • Develop and maintain robust reporting and project management frameworks.

  • Act as a key brand ambassador, strengthening relationships with existing clients and spotting new market opportunities.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership on both project delivery and business development strategies.

 

The Person

To be considered, you must bring:

  • Proven experience in project management within machine building, automation, or special-purpose machinery.

  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to balance project delivery against client, budget, and business needs.

  • Knowledge of the Irish Food & Beverage, Automotive, and Medical Device sectors, ideally with a track record of projects in these markets.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, confident leading technical and commercial discussions with senior clients.

  • Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams with energy, ownership, and structure.

  • An existing network within automation or relevant sectors would be highly advantageous.

 

The Reward
