An excellent opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer to join a local engineering company at an exciting time of expansion. Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will play key role in designing and developing products that meet customer needs with a focus on continuous improvement

The Role

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into innovative, manufacturable product designs.
  • Use CAD software to create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimise designs for cost-effectiveness, manufacturability and efficiency while maintaining product integrity.
  • Work in collaboration with Senior Design Engineers to identify and select appropriate materials for the manufacturing process, considering costs and performance factors.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure that products meet design specifications and industry standards.
  • Create comprehensive design documentation, including BOMs, design reports and other relevant documentation.

 

 

The Person

  • A degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering
  • 2 yearsexperience in a similar role
  • Experience using SolidWorks
