Position: Shift Supervisor/Team Leader – Food Manufacturing
Location: County Armagh
Salary: £45,000 - £48,000
Shift Pattern: Continental shifts – Days (7am-7pm), Nights (7pm-7am)
- Week 1: Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday
- Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday
Job Overview:
As a Shift Supervisor/Team Leader, you will be at the heart of the operations, overseeing and guiding your team to meet production targets across daily and weekly goals. Your leadership, quick problem-solving ability, and determination will ensure smooth task delegation and coordination, contributing to the operational success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for your team, providing clear guidance and consistent communication.
- Handle issues effectively within the team and escalate when necessary to management.
- Work with the departmental manager to address both current and potential future challenges.
- Coach, motivate, and support your team to meet performance standards in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and environmental practices.
- Collaborate with peers to achieve overall business objectives.
- Allocate work, manage staffing levels, and address attendance, grievance, and disciplinary matters in line with company policies.
- Identify and review the team’s training needs, implementing development plans.
- Maintain accurate records of production adjustments, ensuring operational checks are conducted and documented correctly.
- Continuously monitor process controls, ensuring your team maintains production within specification and minimizes waste.
- Enforce adherence to Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 1-3 years’ experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a production or manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of monitoring KPIs and implementing initiatives to meet production targets.
- GCSE pass level in Maths & English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with standardized work instructions and ensuring safe working practices.
- Knowledge and experience in risk assessments and hazard elimination.
- Strong communication, leadership, and people management skills.
- A "Go and See" approach to team and process management.
- Ability to manage and plan resources effectively, with strong organisational and prioritization skills.
- Self-motivated, with a focus on continuous improvement and fostering a high-performance culture.
