Job Opportunity: Quality Assurance Technician – Food Production

About the Role:
Our client are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to join their team within a leading food manufacturing company. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that daily production operations are conducted with a strong focus on quality. This position requires meeting deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance: Actively contribute as a member of the Quality Assurance Team to ensure all products comply with food safety, quality, and legislative requirements.
- Production Support: Collaborate with Shift Supervisors and their teams to ensure that the preparation, portioning, and packing of food products meet established standards and customer specifications.
- Corrective Actions: Implement corrective action programs for any non-conformances identified in the factory, including root cause analysis and preventive measures.
- Testing and Inspection: Plan, conduct, and monitor the testing and inspection of raw materials and finished products to ensure consistent quality.
- Process Validation: Conduct annual product and process validations for each Critical Control Point (CCP) in the factory, managing schedules to ensure timely completion.
- Documentation: Ensure all production and quality paperwork is accurately completed and complies with food safety standards and legislation.
- Calibration Checks: Perform calibration checks on factory equipment, such as temperature probes, data loggers, and scales.
- Validation and Verification: Carry out validations and verifications on critical processes to ensure product safety, including allergen validations, cleaning validations, and CIP (Clean-in-Place) validations.
- Cleaning Monitoring: Monitor and verify cleaning processes in the factory, including conducting ATP (adenosine triphosphate) and environmental swabbing.
- Internal Audits: Conduct internal audits, including glass and hard plastic audits, pre-production audits, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) audits, and hygiene audits.
- Positive Release Checks: Perform positive release checks, including product tasting, strip analysis, gas level checks, weight checks, and temperature monitoring to ensure full compliance with specifications.
- Temperature Monitoring: Conduct manual temperature checks and analyze data logger information to monitor temperatures in the factory, storage, and during transport.
- Procedure Compliance: Ensure all procedures in the factory comply with company standards, customer requirements, and legislative guidelines, including personal hygiene, foreign body control, traceability, and allergen control.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a quality role within a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
- A third-level qualification in food science or a related discipline is highly desirable.
- Availability to work a Monday to Saturday shift roster with flexible hours as needed.
- Access to own transport is required due to the location of the business.
