Job Title: Process Control Technician
Location: Dungannon, Northern Ireland.
Salary: Negotiable DOE

Shift Pattern:

  • Week 1: Day Shift (Monday to Thursday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM)
  • Week 2: Night Shift (Monday to Wednesday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM)

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a skilled Process Control Technician to join a leading horticultural company. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the setup, maintenance, and repair of processing equipment and machinery. You will contribute to efficiency improvements through optimized equipment setup and preventative maintenance, while ensuring that product quality and throughput meet specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the plant operates efficiently and is ready to meet the production schedule.
  • Confirm that all key process input variables are controlled and within specified limits.
  • Maintain control of set points and promptly address any alarms.
  • Document alarm events and record corrective actions taken.
  • Inform the General Manager and technical support team of any critical alarms that do not respond to corrective actions, escalating issues to the PM and Maintenance team as needed.
  • Maintain consistent process control for metering raw material ingredients to ensure product formulation consistency and quality.
  • Continuously review all process inputs to ensure consistent product quality and equipment performance.
  • Monitor weekly costs and losses related to additives, reporting findings in daily and weekly meetings.

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum of 4 GCSEs, including English and Mathematics, or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a process or equipment setup role in a high-volume production environment.
  • Experience in mechanical setup, changeovers, and alignments on high-volume processing equipment.
  • Familiarity with following procedures, systems, and processes.
  • Proven ability to monitor and adjust process variables to ensure the process is in control.
  • Experience in diagnosing process and equipment issues, implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.

Desirable Criteria:

  • NVQ/HNC or equivalent in Engineering or relevant subjects.
  • Knowledge and experience with SCADA control systems.
