Location: Monaghan
Contract: Full-time, 40 hours per week

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated Procurement Officer to join a leading food manufacturing company in Co. Monaghan. In this role, you will report to the Procurement Manager and play a vital part in ensuring a consistent and cost-effective supply of raw materials for our operations. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, focusing on building strong supplier relationships and supporting procurement strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders.
  • Continuously review and evaluate supplier performance.
  • Collaborate with the Technical department to conduct regular supplier audits and assessments, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Assist the Procurement Manager in implementing effective procurement strategies to secure high-quality materials.
  • Liaise with suppliers to place, confirm, and track orders, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Address and resolve any supply chain issues that arise.
  • Develop and maintain stock requirement forecasts as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Ensure procurement practices align with sustainability goals and environmental policies.
  • Collaborate with production teams to plan and coordinate the supply of raw materials.
  • Maintain a raw material inventory management system to optimize stock levels.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a hybrid work environment.
