Job Title: Mechanical Installation Engineer

 

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Installation Engineer will be responsible for installing, testing, and commissioning mechanical systems and equipment. The role involves working closely with project teams, including engineers, supervisors, and clients, to ensure that installations are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The engineer must be capable of diagnosing and resolving installation and operational issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation & Commissioning:
    • Install mechanical systems and equipment according to engineering drawings, technical specifications, and industry standards.
    • Conduct testing and commissioning of installed systems to ensure they meet design and operational criteria.
  • Troubleshooting & Repair:
    • Diagnose and resolve installation issues, including mechanical malfunctions, misalignments, and faulty components.
    • Perform repairs or modifications as needed to ensure proper system functionality.
  • Project Coordination:
    • Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and other team members to plan and execute installations.
    • Ensure that all installations are completed within the scheduled timeline and budget constraints.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Perform quality checks to ensure installations meet the required standards and specifications.
    • Document and report any non-conformities, suggesting corrective actions when necessary.
  • Health & Safety Compliance:
    • Follow all site safety procedures and regulations.
    • Conduct risk assessments and ensure that all safety measures are in place before commencing work.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of installation activities, including daily reports, system test results, and as-built drawings.
    • Provide regular updates to project managers on installation progress.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical installation, preferably in crushing/ screening, washing.
    • Proven experience in installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting mechanical systems.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
    • Familiarity with installation tools, equipment, and best practices.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Certifications:
    • Relevant certifications in mechanical engineering, installation, or safety (e.g., CSCS, NEBOSH) are preferred.

Physical & Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work in various environments, including construction sites, industrial facilities, and confined spaces.
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime or weekends as project demands.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work at heights if required.
