We are hiring for our client, a top-tier employer based in Cookstown, who is seeking an experienced Shift Maintenance Technician to join their established engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a maintenance professional who enjoys fault-finding, problem-solving and working within a busy production environment.

 

The successful Shift Maintenance Technician will support the reliability and performance of plant equipment by completing planned maintenance, responding to breakdowns and identifying opportunities to improve equipment efficiency.

 

The Shift Maintenance Technician will work a 3 on, 3 off rotating 12-hour shift pattern and receive a basic salary of £56,600 alongside an excellent annual leave allowance and pension package.

The Role

 

  • Complete planned preventative maintenance across production machinery and equipment
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and minimise production downtime
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical and operational faults
  • Carry out repairs, component replacements and equipment adjustments
  • Support equipment installations, upgrades and improvement projects
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activity and completed work
  • Work closely with production colleagues to improve plant reliability
  • Ensure all maintenance activity is completed safely and in line with site procedures
  • Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend practical improvements

 

The Person

 

  • Level 3 engineering qualification in a relevant electrical or mechanical discipline
  • Previous maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing, production or processing environment
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Experience completing planned and reactive maintenance
  • Comfortable working a rotating 12-hour shift pattern
  • Able to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team
  • Strong awareness of health, safety and operational standards
  • Practical, organised and solutions-focused approach
