Description
We are hiring for our client, a leading automated machinery manufacturer based in Mullingar, seeking an experienced Robotics Simulation Engineer to support a major new system build. This Robotics Simulation Engineer role will centre on developing advanced robotic welding simulations for large vehicle bodies such as cranes and excavators, ensuring mechanical design integrity and process feasibility before production begins.
The successful Robotics Simulation Engineer will collaborate closely with the engineering team during an initial on-site consultation, before moving into a predominantly remote working arrangement. This contract presents an excellent opportunity for a robotics professional who enjoys technically challenging projects while benefiting from strong flexibility.

The Role:

Develop comprehensive pre-heat and robotic welding simulations using ABB RobotStudio.

Validate robot reachability, weld paths, and overall process capability for large-scale fabricated structures.

Confirm mechanical design functionality for a new automated machine build.

Partner with engineering teams to understand system requirements and constraints.

Provide technical recommendations to optimise robot performance and reduce project risk.

Produce clear documentation outlining simulation outcomes and design considerations.
The Person:
-
Proven experience working as a Robotics Simulation Engineer, Robotics Engineer, or ABB Programmer within industrial automation.

Strong expertise in ABB RobotStudio, including offline programming and robotic simulation.

Experience supporting new installations, machine builds, or system integration projects is highly desirable.

Familiarity with ABB IRB2600ID robots is advantageous.

Analytical thinker with strong troubleshooting capability.

Self-motivated and comfortable delivering high-quality work within a remote structure.
