QA Technical Specialist

We are currently partnering with a leading Food Processing company in Ireland, operating from a state-of-the-art production facility in Co Louth, who are currently seeking to expand its team and recruit for a QA Technical Specialist.

 

Role Overview:

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the Quality Management System (QMS) is maintained to meet company obligations.

  • Approve suppliers and products, ensuring compliance with both internal and external standards.

  • Play a key role in maintaining BRC accreditation and meeting customer-specific standards.

  • Compile and issue reports on Quality KPIs, assisting in preparing the Monthly Quality Management Review report.

  • Collaborate as a key team member in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Food Safety Management System.

  • Evaluate branded products, including specifications and label information, for key retail accounts.

  • Create or review product specifications and provide timely feedback to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Maintain records according to corporate and auditing standards, including micro results.

  • Coordinate the internal audit schedule with external consultants and ensure compliance with auditing standards.

  • Conduct Food Safety and Quality training when required.

  • Participate in daily QC checks.

  • Foster and promote a strong food safety culture.

  • Manage BRCGS and retailer audits, including organic, MCS chain of custody, Global Gap chain of custody, SFPA, and SEDEX audits.

  • Lead and participate in customer and third-party audits, ensuring corrective actions and root cause analysis are completed.


 

Requirements:

  • A qualification in a recognized food/science/quality discipline is desirable.

  • Previous experience in the food industry at a Quality Assurance level.

  • Knowledge of food-related law and industry standards.

  • Experience with food safety and quality procedures and policies.

  • Understanding of customer requirements.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

  • Highly motivated with a proactive, “can-do” attitude.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
