Description
We are hiring for our client, an innovative and expanding automation and machine-building specialist based in Virginia, Co. Cavan. Due to continued growth and increasing project demand, they are seeking an Electrical Technician (Machine Builder) to strengthen their electrical team.
This Experienced Electrical Technician role offers the opportunity to join a highly technical automation business delivering bespoke machinery and automation solutions to industry. Working directly under the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key part in machine builds, panel wiring, site installations and supporting technicians with technical challenges.
With significant expansion planned at the Virginia site, this position has a clear pathway to develop into a Senior role within the next 1–2 years.

€50,000 – €60,000 salary depending on experience

70% workshop / 30% site split – varied and hands-on role
The Role
• Work closely with the Senior Electrical Engineer to support workshop and site activities
• 70% workshop-based – machine building, electrical wiring and panel building
• Assist with and produce low-level EPLAN schematics
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to technicians
• 30% site-based – installations, commissioning and resolving on-site snags
• Travel to customer sites (typically 1–2 weeks depending on project scope)
• Interpret and follow electrical drawings and schematics confidently
The Person
• Qualified Electrical Engineer or time-served, experienced Electrician
• Strong background in machine building and panel wiring
• Comfortable working independently on-site during installations
• Ability to read and follow electrical schematics
• Experience with EPLAN or similar electrical design software desirable
• Flexible and willing to travel for project work
