We are hiring for our client, a fast-growing automation and robotics specialist delivering cutting-edge solutions that directly impact real-world machinery and processes across multiple industries. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Senior Robotics Engineer to play a lead role in the design, development and deployment of advanced robotic systems.

This Senior Robotics Engineer position offers the opportunity to work on technically complex, future-focused automation projects, collaborating with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to transform innovative concepts into robust, scalable robotic products. The role is full-time, permanent and based in Dundalk, Co. Louth, with flexible and hybrid working options available.

The Role

As a Senior Robotics Engineer, you will:

  • Lead end-to-end development of robotic systems, from concept through to deployment

  • Design control architectures and integrate mechanical, electrical and embedded systems

  • Develop and optimise algorithms for perception, localisation, motion planning and control

  • Integrate sensors, actuators and embedded hardware using robotic software frameworks such as ROS/ROS2

  • Build, test and refine robotic prototypes and production-ready systems

  • Collaborate closely with software, electrical and mechanical engineering teams

  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers and managing project milestones

  • Produce detailed technical documentation, test reports and system specifications

  • Contribute to R&D initiatives and stay current with emerging robotics technologies

 

The Person

We are keen to speak with Senior Robotics Engineers who can demonstrate:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering or a related discipline

  • 5+ years’ hands-on experience in robotics system design and implementation

  • Strong programming skills in C++ and Python for robotics applications

  • Proven experience with ROS/ROS2, SLAM and motion planning frameworks

  • Solid understanding of embedded systems, real-time control and sensor integration

  • Experience with computer vision, perception systems and sensor fusion

  • Exposure to simulation tools such as Gazebo, RViz, Isaac Sim or MATLAB/Simulink

  • Strong problem-solving ability and comfort working in fast-paced, evolving environments

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead by example

Experience with AI/ML for robotics, industrial or mobile robotics platforms, cobots, or CAD tools would be highly advantageous.
