Description:
We are hiring for our client: a leading organisation seeking a conscientious and detail-oriented Health & Safety Officer. Following recent expansion, the successful Health & Safety Officer will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing safety, health, and welfare across the business. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Health & Safety Officer will drive compliance, enhance safety culture, and implement best practices in a dynamic, high-performing environment.

The Role:
-
Ensure full compliance with statutory health, safety, and welfare obligations
-
Develop, implement, and monitor health & safety policies, procedures, and training programmes
-
Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, audits, and inspections across sites

Lead investigations into incidents and near-misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented

Maintain records and liaise with regulatory bodies and external consultants as required
-
Promote a proactive, safety-conscious culture through awareness campaigns, toolbox talks, and regular engagement with staff and management
-
Support continuous improvement initiatives and emergency preparedness

Assist in contractor onboarding, reviewing RAMs, and ensuring safe work practices on all sites
The Person:
You will have:
-
A Diploma or Degree in Health and Safety (essential)
-
At least 2 years’ experience in a Health and Safety role within a manufacturing environment
-
Proven experience conducting audits, inspections, incident investigations, and root cause analysis

Ability to formulate, implement, and revise health and safety documentation
-
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
-
Integrity, resilience, and a proactive approach to health and safety
-
Full clean driving licence and fluency in English
Desirable but not essential:
-
Experience in switchgear, electrical, or power industries
-
Knowledge of electrical safety standards and industry regulations
-
Familiarity with project management software (Microsoft Project, Smartsheets, etc.)

Full-time, permanent position with negotiable salary depending on experience

Based primarily onsite in Rathcoole, Dublin (occasional travel to client sites required)
