Production Manager

A fast-growing food manufacturing company based in West Cork is seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to join their dynamic team. The company produces a wide range of food products, with a production output of 250-300 products in various formats and a dedicated team of over 55 production staff and 6 supervisors, this role offers an exciting opportunity to lead in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Operations:

• Plan and schedule production to ensure timely delivery of customer orders within budget.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste using Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Oversee adherence to BRC quality standards and GMP regulations.
• Monitor performance metrics and address areas for improvement.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure timely equipment repairs and minimal downtime.
• Lead and motivate supervisors and operators to achieve production goals while fostering a culture of safety, quality, and collaboration.
• Manage team performance, conduct probation reviews, and implement training programs to enhance skills.
• Promote open communication and address performance or safety concerns promptly.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP principles, SOPs, and BRC standards.
• Oversee quality control procedures and collaborate with the Quality team to address production issues.
• Stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory updates.
• Collaborate with senior managers to maintain optimal raw material levels and minimise waste.
• Implement inventory control systems and monitor production yields to address deviations.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in a production management role within the food or beverage industry.
• Proven expertise in operational efficiency and quality control (BRC, HACCP knowledge essential).
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles is an advantage.
