Part-Time Financial Controller

We are hiring for our client, an established organisation in the Newry area, as they seek to appoint an experienced Part-Time Financial Controller for an initial six-month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional seeking a meaningful senior-level assignment with genuine flexibility. The requirement is approximately 20 hours per week, which can be structured across half-days or approximately two and a half full days.

The Role

As Part-Time Financial Controller, you will:

• Support and facilitate the month-end close process
• Prepare monthly management reports
• Assist with the annual budgeting process
• Develop sales workbooks and populate profit and loss forecasts
• Complete and review balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintain and quality-check rebate trackers
• Prepare Intrastat returns
• Undertake detailed Excel-based financial analysis
• Liaise with stakeholders across the organisation
• Coordinate with the existing finance team to ensure deadlines are met
• Work with increasing autonomy once familiar with the company’s processes

The Person

The successful candidate should have:

• Previous Financial Controller, Finance Manager or senior management accounting experience
• Strong month-end, budgeting and management-reporting skills
• Advanced Excel capability
• Excellent attention to detail
• The ability to work independently and manage deadlines
• Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills
• A relevant accounting qualification or substantial equivalent experience
• Previous experience within a commercially focused organisation
