Description:
We are hiring for our client, a specialist advanced manufacturing and automation business delivering bespoke machinery, robotic systems, and engineered solutions to global customers. The Mechanical Technician will play a pivotal role supporting the assembly, installation, maintenance, and optimisation of mechanical and automated production equipment. This is a varied, hands-on role involving mechanical systems, pneumatics, and automation, ensuring equipment performs at its best.

The Role:
- Carry out mechanical assembly, installation and commissioning of production equipment
- Perform maintenance, inspections and repairs on machinery
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and pneumatic faults
- Work from technical drawings, schematics and engineering instructions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and uptime
- Assist with integration of mechanical systems alongside electrical and automation teams
- Maintain accurate maintenance and service records
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and quality standards
- Operate tools and equipment safely within a production environment
The Person:
- Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent (3rd level / time-served)
- Strong mechanical aptitude with exposure to pneumatics/hydraulics
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Experience in fault finding and equipment maintenance
- Hands-on experience in a manufacturing or automation environment
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
