We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing M&E contractor for an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join its expanding estimating team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a plumbing or mechanical background who enjoys analysing drawings, preparing competitive tenders, and working closely with contractors and suppliers on a varied portfolio of projects. The role can be based in Belfast, offering flexibility depending on your location and experience.

The Role

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will:

• Prepare detailed mechanical take-offs from drawings, budgets and specifications
• Price projects from initial enquiry through to contract handover
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and manufacturers to obtain competitive quotations
• Analyse mechanical drawings and schematics to produce accurate estimates
• Prepare schedules of rates and tender summary information
• Identify value engineering opportunities and potential project risks
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
• Support the wider estimating and delivery teams to secure new business

The Person

You will ideally have:

• NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing (or equivalent industry experience)
• Strong mechanical services knowledge
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• The ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• A proactive, team-focused approach
• Estimating experience and knowledge of Excel or estimating software such as Trimble/Amtech (desirable)
