We are hiring for our client, a well-established and growing food distribution business, to appoint a Commercial Manager based in Belfast.

This Commercial Manager role sits within the senior management team and reports directly to the Managing Director. The successful Commercial Manager will take ownership of sales and purchasing functions, lead key customer and supplier relationships, and drive commercial performance across the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional with experience in food distribution who enjoys balancing strategy with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.

The Role

  • Manage sales and purchasing functions across the business
  • Lead key customer account management including pricing, rebates and promotions
  • Implement supplier price increases across customer groups
  • Achieve and improve gross margin performance
  • Oversee product database management including new listings and delists
  • Manage haulage-in costs and stock control to minimise wastage
  • Negotiate promotional activity and marketing support with suppliers
  • Introduce new product ranges aligned to business growth strategy
  • Oversee the Commercial team including distributors and sales personnel
  • Ensure supplier compliance with key customer legislative requirements

The Person

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar commercial role
  • Experience within food distribution or FMCG environment preferred
  • Strong commercial acumen including margins, mark-ups and VAT (UK & Ireland)
  • Strong Excel, numeracy and analytical capability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Collaborative and growth-focused mindset

The Reward

  • Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm
