Description
We are hiring for our client, a highly successful fabrication and engineering business based in Portadown, seeking an experienced Estimator / QS to support continued growth. Working within a specialist team producing high-quality mild steel, stainless steel and structural steel projects, this Estimator / QS role offers the opportunity to take ownership of estimating, tendering, and commercial support across a diverse project portfolio.
This position will suit a motivated Estimator who enjoys a mix of pricing, client interaction, and commercial oversight.

The Role
• Prepare accurate cost estimates and detailed quotations for fabrication and installation projects
• Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to source competitive pricing
• Submit tenders and manage follow-ups, including negotiation where appropriate
• Monitor and control project costs, variations and commercial performance
• Identify new tender opportunities and support business development
• Attend site meetings and assist with verification of dimensions
The Person
• 3+ years’ experience in an Estimator / QS role within construction or steel
• Strong ability to interpret fabrication drawings and specifications
• Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; estimating software experience advantageous
Desirable:
• Degree / HNC / HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction, or Engineering
• Knowledge of mild steel, stainless steel and structural steel
