Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. This role involves analyzing production workflows, troubleshooting issues, and developing solutions to streamline manufacturing processes. The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and supply chain, to ensure products meet quality standards and are manufactured efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Development and Optimization

- Design, develop, and improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity and product quality.
- Conduct time studies and process flow analysis to identify areas for process improvements.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma) to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and drive continuous improvement.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting

- Provide technical support to production teams to resolve issues impacting quality, safety, or efficiency.
- Investigate production problems and implement corrective actions to address root causes.
- Conduct root cause analyses for recurring issues and document corrective actions.
Quality Assurance and Compliance

- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure compliance with quality standards, such as ISO or industry-specific certifications.
- Support the development and implementation of quality control procedures for manufacturing processes.
- Conduct inspections and audits to ensure production processes meet quality and safety standards.
Cost and Resource Management

- Evaluate manufacturing costs and identify opportunities to reduce production costs without compromising quality.
- Recommend and implement cost-effective methods, materials, and equipment.
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting for manufacturing operations.
Documentation and Reporting

- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
- Prepare reports on process performance, productivity, and efficiency for management review.
- Monitor and document key metrics (KPIs) related to production efficiency, quality, and cost.
Safety and Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure that manufacturing processes comply with safety and environmental regulations.
- Identify potential safety risks and work to mitigate hazards in the production environment.
- Train staff on safety protocols and conduct regular safety audits.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering or similar role in a production environment.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and familiarity with production planning.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt).
- Experience with automated manufacturing systems and robotics.
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and other quality management systems.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to manufacturing.
