JOB TITLE: Assistant Accountant, ESL/ERD
The Eakin Healthcare Group (EHG) is a people focused healthcare business. Founded in 1974, the Eakin
Healthcare Group has a successful track record as a medical device manufacturer of high-quality skin
protection and ancillary products for use in ostomy and wound care and most recently single use surgical
instruments and respiratory/anaesthesia through acquisition.
There are 6 companies within the Eakin Healthcare Group:
• TG Eakin Limited based near Comber, Co Down, focus on the manufacturing and export of ostomy and
wound care products to the international market
• Pelican Healthcare Limited based in Cardiff, Wales, specialise in the manufacture and distribution of
ostomy care products for the UK
• Respond Healthcare Limited is a Dispensing Appliance Contractor providing NHS Services, dispensing
prescriptions for stoma and continence products, to patients residing within the UK
• Eakin Surgical Limited manufacture single use instruments for ENT, General, Gynaecological,
Ophthalmological, Oral and Maxillofacial, Orthopaedic, Paediatric surgeries
• Eakin R&D Limited focus on innovative research and development of ostomy, wound care and
respiratory products for the Group
• Armstrong Medical Limited based in Coleraine Northern Ireland is a specialist manufacturer of
respiratory medical equipment, and respiratory / anaesthesia consumables for Critical, Perioperative
and Neonatal care
The Group currently exports to over 60 countries through a network of 40 distributors plus its own offices and
direct routes to market in UK, Japan, Netherlands, Ireland and France. The Group has great people, great
resources, is incredibly successful and has received numerous business awards.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a confident and self-motivated individual who can demonstrate strong levels of
performance in this Finance role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the accounting function in Eakin Surgical (ESL), and
Eakin R&D Ltd (ERD).
KEY ACTIVITIES
• Accrual accounting and journal management • Prepare VAT and Intrastat returns and submit on a timely basis • Complete all statistical returns • Prepare stock reconciliations for all locations • Prepare monthly Balance sheet reconciliations • Prepare legal entity trial balances for the above companies
• Preparation of supporting schedules for Legal Entity financial statements • Preparation of audit files for the external auditors and liaising with the auditors for the annual audit
• Oversee the transactional functions for ESL, ERD
